HO HO HO Your Home

Today is the day. As much as I love fall, I am transforming my home to Christmas. I bring up all the storage bins from the basement and throw the fall stuff in. Now I'd like to say I put it all in neatly and wrap the breakables. No, I sort of cushion the breakables with pillows and maybe some garland.. There really is no rhyme or reason. This year I am going to take pictures of how I set everything up so I can save myself some time next year. It took me several days longer this year because I was wandering around the house trying to figure out where to shove another pumpkin or more faux leaves. One year my hubby and I got really creative and printed the pics and put them on the storage bin with only those items inside it. I really don't know what happened to this process, I think all of the pics may have come off during the move. Maybe I will implement that again this year?

I've gathered a list of some of my favorite decor items. Some I have and some are similar to what I have because I couldn't find them exactly. Click on all the links to check the retailer and pricing.

I included some captions with each item to give you an idea of how I use them. Once I get started with my own decorating, I will take some pics and let you see my looks.

For those of you who have been following me a while, you know my record player is in my Top 5

Christmas items. Every home should have one. And a Bing Crosby record.

I like to hang wreaths on interior doors using Command strips. They're perfect for a half-bath door or use smaller ones on some of your kitchen cabinets. Try on mirrors or on windows with a fat ribbon.

Over the years my kids have ended up with small trees in their rooms. I put them back down in the basement after Christmas, as is, and cover with a large trash bag. This way the next year all we have to do is remove the trash bag and carry it back up, ornaments and all.

These new tree collars are all the rage. I bought a few and then realized that my tree bases were to large. So be sure to measure. I have an entry table where I have a small tree (similar to the one to the left) and I use a tree collar to hide the base.

"Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?"...oh Clark. It's not the Christmas season without National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. These moose eggnog cups are just plain funny. I don't like eggnog but why not some Bailey's & hot cocoa?

There you have it. Watch for my Insta stories to see the process of the transformation. Even with my hubby helping, it takes several days. We do the barn of course as well. I won't do the outside for a few weeks. I hate to take out my pretty mums, so for a little while I will just be "holiday-conflicted".

Be kind and love others,

Christine xoxo
